The contest is live!
The first audio link is the Horror Addicts podcast. The second contains eight 15-minute stories from women writers. If you want to vote, listen to all of them, but if you just want to hear mine it appears at 1hr 30 min.
I threw my hat in the ring because I just plain wanted to do audio fiction, but it's been great on many levels. They say the best class you can take as an artist is where you're the worst person in the room. I probably would have chickened out if I'd known I'd be the least experienced writer in the group, but I'm glad I didn't. The Wicked Women are a wonderful coven. They've been supportive and welcoming, and I've enjoyed getting to know them and their work.
And it forced me into recording now.
I wrote down the wrong date. I'm embarrassed to tell you how little time was left when I realized my mistake. After drafting the story fermenting in my head for months, I had 24 hours to learn the equipment and software to record and edit my audio. It didn't all go as smoothly as I hoped...
But I loved it.
Really loved it.
So, I hope you enjoy this first effort. I'm climbing a steep learning curve and hatching plans
to record more. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
