Or course, any sale is big, but this one feels special.
I became a fan of Escape Artists on my way out to the CSSF Novel Writer's Workshop in 2009. It's a long drive from Philly to Lawrence, KS and I listened to a lot of great stories.
The next year I wrote a 500 word short story, Queen, in their flash fiction contest, which made the semifinal round. I also took the opportunity to expand and workshop it that summer at Kij Johnson's Repeat Offenders Workshop.
This is the first short story I wrote as an adult. It's the first story I started submitting. It's not my first sale, but I couldn't be prouder it found a home on Pseudopod. Can't wait to hear what they do with it!
